Job description

Commissary Agents are responsible for building all galleys to the clients' specifications for all scheduled flights. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee. "Lead by Example" concept is strongly promoted.
Commissary Agents must report to work on a regular and timely basis and report directly to the supervisor and/or manager on duty.
Job Duties

  • Understand and promote the company core values
  • Build/strip commissary according to airline specs and schedules within established timelines
  • Ensure production areas comply with sanitation standards and customer/company requirements
  • Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Complete inventories according to airline requirements
  • Understand and comply with Canada Border Services Agency Memorandum D7-1-1 & D4-1-4
  • Understand and comply with Transport Canada requirements
  • Comply with Sky Café Food policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in Sky Café's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations. Understand, comply with, and promote the company Safety Policy
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the warehouse at all times
  • Assist in set up, cleaning and storage of equipment and warehouse
  • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of food and goods, including loading and unloading
  • Receive, perform temperature testing and inspection of catering deliveries from our food service provider
  • Comply with all Sky Café and airline policies
  • Constantly communicate with other catering personnel, and respective airline communication centers if applicable
  • Performs other duties as required
Work Environment
  • Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise
  • May be required to work in a cold room of 4 degrees or less for extended periods of time
  • Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis
  • Regular standing, bending, and lifting during shift
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Obtain a clear criminal record
  • Ability to obtain necessary airport and security clearances
  • Ability to work within the required time parameters
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
  • Must successfully complete airline and corporate specific training programs and recertification
  • Must be able to operate all equipment as pertains to the position (forklifts, high lift trucks, catering vans)
