This Senior Software Development Engineer role is part of the Air Supply team which sits within our Technology division. Air Supply unifies and elevates Expedia Group's air supply platform across brands and partners, deepening integrations with airline and distribution systems (such as NDC and aggregators) to deliver a trusted, high‑converting, and cost‑efficient air shopping and booking experience.

In this role you will:
  • Design, build, and evolve backend services and customer experiences in Java, including system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling for scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
  • Implement high‑quality backend code and supporting service components in Java, ensuring maintainability, observability, and operational excellence across multiple services and domains.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and partner engineering teams to translate business and customer requirements into robust backend solutions and reusable service integrations.
  • Own and improve the end‑to‑end lifecycle of backend services and features, including development, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution.
  • Apply data‑driven approaches to prioritize work, validate hypotheses, and continuously optimize service performance, reliability, and user experience across Java‑based systems.
