Job description

Position Summary

Art Craft Paint Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to join our growing maintenance team. This position is responsible for performing inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, alterations, and troubleshooting on aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, and approved maintenance manuals.

The successful candidate will help establish and operate the mechanical department to Part 145 Repair Station standards while supporting FAR Part 135 aircraft maintenance operations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, attention to detail, and exceptional workmanship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft inspections, maintenance, repairs, and alterations in accordance with:

    • FAA regulations

    • Airworthiness Directives (ADs)

    • Service Bulletins (SBs)

    • Service Letters

    • Approved maintenance manuals and company procedures

    • Air Frame experience main duties

    • Window Replacement

    • Flight Control Removal

    • Fiberglass Installations

    • Conduct routine maintenance on aircraft

    • Respond to maintenance or repair requests

    • Run diagnostic tests to identify malfunctions

    • Order, assemble, and replace malfunctioning parts

    • Ensure every aircraft is ready and safe for flight

  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Verify part numbers and serial numbers before installation or removal to ensure documentation accuracy.

  • Complete all maintenance records accurately and in compliance with FAA regulations and company requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Assist in establishing maintenance processes that meet Part 145 Repair Station standards.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company operations.

FAR Part 135 Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance in accordance with Art Craft Paint Inc.'s maintenance policies and procedures.

  • Notify aircraft owners or their representatives of any discrepancies that would render an aircraft unairworthy or out of service.

  • Verify and update aircraft Status Reports for assigned aircraft.

  • Research aircraft parts and enter part numbers into Airtable for procurement.

  • Order aircraft parts and supplies to maintain inventory levels and support operational readiness.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate in good standing.

  • 3–6 years of aircraft maintenance experience.

  • Experience working with FAR Part 135 aircraft operations.

  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, FAA Form 337s, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, wiring diagrams, and technical data.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting and vibration balancing.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal and composite repair techniques.

  • Proficiency using electronic maintenance manuals and vendor technical data.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team-oriented with a professional attitude.

  • Willingness to work overtime and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed.

Preferred

  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).

  • Previous experience working in or helping establish a Part 145 Repair Station.
