As a Tool Room Lead, you'll oversee daily Tool Room operations, lead a team across multiple locations, and ensure the tools and equipment needed for aircraft maintenance are available, serviceable, and ready when production demands them. From managing inventory through SAP and coordinating tool purchases, rentals, calibrations, and repairs to training team members and driving continuous process improvements, you'll play a critical role in supporting safe, efficient maintenance operations. ST Engineering Aerospace is located in Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. We meet our customers' requirements by providing a full spectrum of high-quality, reliable, and timely AMM and engineering solutions. We have the know-how and experience to comprehensively manage complex projects, ensuring our customers' aircraft operate safely and efficiently.

What YOU will do: 

The Tool Room Lead is directly responsible to the Tooling Supervisor.  The Tool Room Lead provides tooling and equipment necessary to support production of aircraft maintenance as well as coordinating the daily operations of the Tooling department and personnel.

In This Role YOU will: 

1.  Leads a crew of Tool Room employees over multiple locations across the facility.

2.  Enters tooling inventory through SAP.

3.  Purchases tooling and equipment necessary to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.

4.  Maintains tooling and equipment inventory to ensure serviceability and accountability including repairs, load test, calibration and re-calibration.

5.  Rents or leases tooling and equipment necessary to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.

6.  Trains and assists his/her subordinates with proper procedures, methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.

7.  Assists Planning in procuring tools and equipment necessary for certification by the FAA to work on different types of commercial aircraft and work scopes.

8.  Evaluates departmental operations, recommending improvements in quality, productivity and employee relations. Implements programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality as maintained by the company Quality Assurance program.  Resolves departmental problems by identifying the problem, researching alternatives, analyzing the costs and benefits, implementing the best alternative, and evaluating the end results.

9.  Enforces all company policies and procedures to all Tool Room employees, fairly and consistently.

The ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, by presenting ideas and giving instructions/guidance to subordinates, co-workers, supervisors and outside agencies to ensure that instructions are carried out and requested information is obtained; The ability to motivate and lead a staff or team of subordinates to obtain goals, higher productivity and quality of work; The ability to delegate and prioritize work effectively; creative; persuasive.

SUPERVISION:

The Tool Room Lead normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority.  Total end results determine effectiveness of job performance.

INTERPERSONAL ENVIORMENT:

A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and outside agencies.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but are not limited to the office.  Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • 1 year of experience working in an MRO environment.
  • Working knowledge of Toom Room operations
  • Current working knowledge of the SAP system
