Master Precision Aerospace Structures – Join Us as a Structural Technician

Location: Vandalia, OH | Payrate: $46.55/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace and defense industry to hire an experienced Structural Technician. If you have advanced aircraft structural assembly experience and take pride in precision craftsmanship, this is your opportunity to work on complex aerospace structures that support the future of flight.

In this high-impact role, you'll apply your expertise in structural fabrication, modification, repair, and inspection to build and maintain critical aerospace assemblies while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Perform advanced structural assembly and minor part-fitting operations, including filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.

  • Translate complex blueprints and technical drawings into precision structural fabrications and assemblies.

  • Perform precision drilling, countersinking, layout, and assembly operations using calibrated tools.

  • Align aircraft structures and components using jigs, templates, fixtures, and aerospace vehicle references.

  • Measure and verify dimensions using precision measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers.

  • Install structural fasteners, including rivets, hi-locks, and other hardware.

  • Modify incomplete and completed assemblies while incorporating engineering changes into structures.

  • Perform airframe repair and refinishing activities, including corrosion removal as applicable.

  • Update job status and maintain accurate information within operational tracking systems.

  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process controls and established inspection procedures.

  • Perform maintenance duties and collaborate with team members, leads, quality control, and engineering teams to ensure successful program execution.

  • Support a safe work environment while performing aviation-related duties in a safety-sensitive role.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 10+ years of relevant structural assembly experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Must own and maintain tools in good working condition.

  • Advanced experience with aircraft structural assembly, fabrication, and minor part-fitting techniques.

  • Ability to interpret moderately complex technical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and aerospace publications.

  • Experience completing installations while maintaining required edge distance and pitch specifications.

  • Experience installing structural fasteners, including rivets and hi-locks.

  • Experience with structural repair, refinishing, and airframe corrosion removal processes.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precision work using calibrated tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace and defense industry experience.

  • Background with the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, or U.S. military programs.

  • Willingness and ability to travel.
