What does an aircraft manager do?

An Aircraft Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and scheduling of one or more aircraft. This role involves managing the crew, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating maintenance and inspections, and handling logistics such as flight planning and budgeting. Aircraft Managers also serve as the main point of contact between aircraft owners, operators, and regulatory bodies, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft at all times.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an aircraft manager?

To thrive as an Aircraft Manager, you need expertise in aviation operations, maintenance oversight, regulatory compliance, and typically a degree in aviation management or a related field. Familiarity with aviation management software, maintenance tracking systems, and FAA regulations is essential, and certifications such as an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license are highly valued. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities help coordinate teams and ensure operational efficiency. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance of aircraft operations.

How does an aircraft manager coordinate with maintenance and flight operations teams to ensure aircraft readiness?
