The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of all IT assets within the organization. This role will play a crucial role in ensuring that our IT assets are accounted for, maintained, and utilized effectively to support our business operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive asset management policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Implement and manage an IT asset inventory system to track all hardware, software, and related components.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure accuracy and compliance with asset management policies.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to optimize asset procurement processes and costs.
  • Monitor asset usage and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
  • Coordinate the disposal and/or recycling of obsolete or end-of-life assets in accordance with environmental and data security standards.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and maintain an accurate software license inventory.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on asset management metrics, including inventory levels, asset lifecycle status, and compliance.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, trends, and technologies related to IT asset management.

Skills & Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in IT asset management or a related field, with a solid understanding of asset management principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of asset management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, etc.).
  • Familiarity with software licensing agreements and compliance requirements.
  • Certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or similar would be advantageous.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience in implementing or managing IT asset management processes in a large organization.
  • Experience with cloud-based asset management solutions and virtualized environments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
