Amazon Air is looking for an experienced Planner or Supply Chain Manager to push our air transportation strategy to the next level. This includes the transition to a majority next-day delivery network, the evolution of AIR's network structure and fleet strategy, growing an external Air Cargo product, and building business cases for new aviation technologies

Key job responsibilities
- Leading mid- and long-term network planning initiatives for Amazon Air
- Serving as key point of contact for other business units (e.g. ground transportation, fulfillment centers, last mile, etc.).
- Developing capacity plans and shaping network strategy, while driving continuous improvement across customer experience, cost, and sustainability metrics
- Program management for capital and operational planning including developing timelines, engaging stakeholders, identifying risks and developing contingencies.
- Evaluating tradeoffs on the mechanisms to solve for customer needs and cost in order to drive consensus across partner teams (Finance, Operations, Process Engineering, Procurement, etc.).
- Partnering with Research Science & Technology as a subject matter expert to create new planning and forecasting tools.
- Navigating through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and delivering on commitment.
- Domestic travel up to 20% of the time
A day in the life
The Network Design Leader will be responsible for designing network operating plans (new routes!) and communicating those plans across internal teams. They will also assist in creating long term strategic recommendations for fleet, gateway, hub, and sortation needs

Through data analysis, modeling, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry research you will work towards developing an optimal Amazon Air flight schedule maximizing asset utilization across both air and ground asset while achieving multi-faceted business objectives.

Network Design (ND) is one of the primary pillars of the Planning and Performance organization within Amazon Air. The organization is responsible for setting the course for AIR to keep raising the bar for customers by ensuring the best possible mix of fast speeds, low costs, as well superior quality and reliability.
