Job Title: OTR Mine Tire Technician

Reports to: Manager (or similar position)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Full-Time

POSITION OVERVIEW - Customer location is in Afton, WY

Maintains existing customer by servicing all tire needs to ensure that the customer is aware of industry best practices. Responsible for mounting, dismounting, and repairs. This position is responsible for the safe execution of OTR/Earthmover tires, Mining, support vehicles, commercial and light duty tires as well.


This position pays 28.00 to 32.00 (DOE) and is at the customer’s location in Afton WY. This is a 2-week on and 2 week off schedule. Housing is provided for the employee.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspects and diagnose service and tire problems on customer vehicles. Communicate necessary repairs and/or replacement of parts, recommend additional preventative services.
  • Provides excellent customer service to existing accounts by staying in touch, immediate follow-up and resolving issues
  • Completes service orders, work orders and all other required paperwork. It is required to turn in daily at the end of shift.
  • Operate air compressor, impact gun and other various machines and tools.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and mechanical maintenance, and ensures vehicle registration, insurance, safety and OSHA materials and devices are up-to-date. This is required along with a pre shift and post shift inspection on all company vehicles.
  • Tire work Mount and dismount, air pressure checks and repairs. Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs.
  • Active role in knowledge of product and service.
  • Show up in a clean company provided uniform at the start of every shift.
  • Performs fleet inspections and provides excellent inspection and survey forms.
  • Review work orders and discuss with supervisors.
  • Able to use systems to properly document any survey or tire issue.
  • Supports company safety and operational standards and adheres to all audit requirements
  • MSHA is required to start. TIA 200 and 300 required within the first year of employment.
  • Maintains equipment to required standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to DOT and Commercial Tire driving requirement.
  • Meets or exceeds managements productivity goals
  • Responsible for training and assisting others at store to safely perform tire changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – Required

  • Valid CDL license and Insurable Driving Record
  • 3 years of tire industry related experience
  • TIA Basic Auto 200, TIA CST level 300 within the first year of employment
  • TIA Certified Earthmover
  • Must have operated a service truck with boom for at least 1 year
  • MSHA Certified.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
