The Home Health Aide (HHA) is a personal care provider responsible for completing a variety of activities and tasks for the care of a client. The HHA functions under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates an understanding of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of COHME.

COHME Home Health Aides are people who:
- Are punctual, reliable, and professional
- Always prioritizes the care recipient’s well-being
- Supports clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services; shopping for food and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals and snacks; running errands.
- Assists clients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitors client condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
- Enjoys working with clinically challenging clients from diverse cultures and communities
- Records client information; notifying nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
Clinical Requirements:
- Home Health Aide Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write English at 10th grade level
- Basic computer skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Experience working with Dementia clients
- Must be able to maneuver assistive devices of clients (may include assisting in wheelchair use, Hoyer lift, Rollators), Stand-Pivot transfers. The position requires occasional lifting to 50 lbs
- Experience with care resistant clients
