Job description

About Chiappetta Shoes

Chiappetta Shoes is a 100+ year-old family business with a modern mission: help people solve foot pain, find better footwear, and understand what they are putting on their feet.

We are part shoe store, part custom orthotic lab, part foot health education company, part old-school service business, and part content brand. Our marketing strategy has long focused on using personality, expertise, product education, and behind-the-scenes storytelling to build trust and drive sales. Past plans have specifically called for personality-driven series, product review videos, workshop/lab content, educational foot pain content, and social storytelling that brings the Chiappetta culture to life.

Now we need someone who can help us show that every day.

The Role

We are looking for a Social Media Creator / Content Producer who can live inside the business, capture what is happening, and turn it into content people actually want to watch.

This role is for someone who understands Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Reels, stories, captions, hooks, trends, and short-form storytelling. You do not need to be a Hollywood filmmaker. You do need taste, hustle, curiosity, and the ability to make useful content quickly.

You will work with ownership, marketing, sales staff, pedorthists, the shoe repair team, and the orthotic lab to create content around products, foot pain, custom orthotics, shoe fitting, repairs, customer education, brand personality, and daily life inside Chiappetta Shoes.

Who We’re Looking For

We want someone who has juice.

Someone creative. Someone observant. Someone who can spot a good moment. Someone who can take a product, a customer question, a lab process, a funny Tony quote, or a new shipment of shoes and turn it into a video, post, story, or campaign idea.

You need to be willing to learn. Footwear is deep. Pedorthics is deep. Orthotics are deep. But that is the opportunity. Most content online is shallow. We have the knowledge. Your job is to help package it so people care.

We want someone with a chip on their shoulder who wants to become excellent.

Primary Responsibilities

You will create and manage content including:

  • Short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts
  • Daily/weekly social posts and stories
  • Product highlight videos
  • New arrival content
  • “Why this shoe works” educational content
  • Behind-the-scenes lab and shoe repair content
  • Foot pain education clips
  • Customer FAQ videos
  • Event and promotion content
  • Staff/personality-driven content
  • Community and local business content
  • Repurposed clips from longer videos, podcasts, training, or in-store conversations
  • Captions, hooks, thumbnails, and basic graphics
  • Content scheduling and publishing
  • Basic reporting on what is working

Required Skills

Strong candidates should have:

  • Experience creating social media content for a brand, business, personal brand, or organization
  • Strong short-form video instincts
  • Ability to shoot clean video on a phone or camera
  • Basic lighting, audio, and framing awareness
  • Editing experience using CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci, Canva, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, trends, and platform behavior
  • Comfort being around customers, sales staff, and ownership
  • Ability to work quickly without needing everything to be perfect
  • Good writing instincts for captions and hooks
  • Organization and consistency

AI Expectations

We want someone who uses AI as a daily content assistant.

You should be able to use ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools to:

  • Brainstorm content ideas
  • Create hooks and captions
  • Turn long conversations into social clips
  • Create shot lists
  • Build weekly content calendars
  • Repurpose blog posts, product information, or training notes into short-form content
  • Research trends and adapt them to our brand
  • Draft scripts for educational videos
  • Organize content themes by product, customer persona, or campaign

The goal is not to make robotic content. The goal is to use AI to move faster so the human content feels more alive.

Bonus Skills

Big pluses:

  • Footwear, fashion, retail, fitness, healthcare, sports, or wellness experience
  • Photography
  • Graphic design
  • YouTube experience
  • Podcast clipping
  • Paid social creative experience
  • Shopify/product tagging familiarity
  • Klaviyo/email content familiarity
  • Comfort appearing on camera occasionally

What Success Looks Like

You are winning in this role if:

  • Chiappetta’s social channels feel alive every week
  • We are consistently posting useful, entertaining, brand-building content
  • Our products are being shown in a way that makes people want them
  • Our expertise becomes easier for normal people to understand
  • Our videos generate more engagement, traffic, appointments, and sales
  • The team starts thinking, “We need to capture this,” because content has become part of the culture
  • You help turn the shop, the lab, the people, and the products into a media engine

Our Standard

We are not looking for someone who just “likes social media.”

We are looking for someone who wants to get good. Someone who studies what works. Someone who can take feedback. Someone who can post, learn, improve, and post again.

There is a lot of opportunity here. We have stories everywhere. Products everywhere. Problems to solve everywhere. Personalities everywhere. This job is about turning that raw material into attention, trust, and revenue.

To Apply

Send us:

  • Your resume
  • Links to social accounts or content you have created
  • 3 examples of short-form videos you are proud of
  • A short note explaining why you would be a difference maker here
  • A quick explanation of how you use ChatGPT, Claude, or AI tools in your content process

Company Description

Chiappetta Shoes is a fourth-generation, family-owned shoe store, pedorthic practice, and custom orthotic laboratory in Kenosha, Wisconsin. We have served our community for over 100 years, but we are not interested in acting like an old, sleepy shoe store.
We help people move better, feel better, and live better through better footwear, better fit, and real problem-solving. Our customers come to us for foot pain, hard-to-fit feet, work boots, comfort footwear, diabetic concerns, custom orthotics, and honest expert guidance.
We are proud to have been recognized locally and nationally, including being named one of the top comfort shoe stores in the country and voted Kenosha’s Best Shoe Store year after year. But awards are not the mission. The mission is trust, service, expertise, and doing right by people.
What makes Chiappetta different is the combination of old-school customer service and modern ambition. We still believe in measuring both feet, listening carefully, understanding the customer’s problem, and offering a real solution. At the same time, we are growing through ecommerce, content creation, AI-assisted marketing, custom orthotic manufacturing, social media, video, email, SEO, paid advertising, and national brand building.
At our core, we are people-people. We believe in confidence, pride, compassion, and empathy. Confidence comes from knowing what you are talking about. Pride comes from offering great solutions. Compassion means caring enough to listen. Empathy means asking whether the solution would be good enough for your own mother.
We are looking for difference makers — people with a chip on their shoulder who want to build, create, solve, learn, and grow. We want people who respect the history of a 100-year-old business but are excited to help push it into the future.
We are Shoe Dogs. That means we care about the product, the customer, the craft, and the details. We pay attention to what is happening in footwear, retail, marketing, technology, and culture. We are creative because we are knowledgeable. We are competitive because we care.
Technology is a major part of where we are going, but it will never replace the human side of what we do. AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude should make us faster and sharper, but the heart of the business will always be people helping people.
Being part of the Chiappetta Crew is both a responsibility and a privilege. We run with a tight crew. We care about each other, our customers, our community, and winning the right way.
If you want to coast, hide, or wait to be told what to do, this probably is not the place.
If you want to build something, make an impact, honor a proud tradition, and help take a legendary local business to the next level — welcome to Chiappetta Shoes.
