AI Security Engineer Specialist

North Point Technology is seeking an experienced AI Security Engineer Specialist to design, deploy, and optimize artificial intelligence solutions within cybersecurity operations. This role focuses on AI prompt engineering, security automation, threat detection, incident response, and the integration of Microsoft Copilot tools into Security Operations Center workflows.

Key ResponsibilitiesAI Security Engineering

• Use Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Security Copilot, and related AI tools to improve security operations
• Design, deploy, and manage AI agents for cybersecurity use cases
• Develop AI solutions for threat hunting, incident triage, investigation, and compliance reporting
• Integrate AI tools into existing cybersecurity platforms and operational workflows
• Build automated workflows for alert enrichment, log analysis, and threat intelligence
• Identify opportunities to improve analyst productivity and reduce response times

Prompt Engineering and Automation

• Develop and maintain prompts designed for cybersecurity use cases
• Create reusable prompt libraries for investigations, threat analysis, reporting, and documentation
• Design automation logic for repetitive security operations tasks
• Test and refine prompts to improve accuracy, consistency, and operational value
• Evaluate the effectiveness of AI agents, workflows, and automated security processes
• Maintain appropriate human review and validation within AI assisted workflows

Security Operations

• Support threat detection, investigation, incident response, and threat hunting activities
• Analyze and correlate security data from multiple sources
• Use AI assisted tools to identify suspicious activity, threats, and anomalies
• Provide advanced analytical support during critical security incidents
• Collaborate with Security Operations Center analysts, security engineers, and governance teams
• Participate in an on call rotation when required

Security Analytics and Reporting

• Create dashboards and reporting tools using Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, and related platforms
• Present AI enhanced threat intelligence and operational security insights
• Automate security documentation and compliance reporting
• Monitor security metrics and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Support the development of reports for technical teams, leadership, and other stakeholders

Documentation and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Document AI agents, prompts, integrations, automation logic, and security workflows
• Monitor emerging artificial intelligence technologies and cybersecurity threats
• Recommend improvements to security tools, processes, and automation strategies
• Maintain awareness of responsible AI, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related field
• At least five years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or security operations
• Experience integrating artificial intelligence into cybersecurity workflows
• Experience with AI prompt engineering and workflow automation
• Knowledge of threat detection, threat hunting, incident response, and security monitoring
• Experience analyzing security alerts, logs, and threat intelligence
• Experience with security information and event management platforms
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to learn new technologies, procedures, and security protocols
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with analysts, engineers, governance teams, and stakeholders
• Ability to participate in an on call rotation

• Master's degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related field
