You should not apply for this role if you will require Toyota to assist with immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.

Who we're looking for

The Model Governance team is seeking a qualified AI Governance Manager to support ongoing governance and operational oversight of the enterprise AI governance framework, as the organization's deployment of AI capabilities continues to expand and necessitates a scalable control structure with rigorous oversight across the AI lifecycle.

The Manager, AI Governance is accountable for directing the AI governance function and administering the end-to-end governance lifecycle for AI tools and use cases across the enterprise. This role leads a team of two senior analysts and acts as the central operating lead for AI governance activities, including subcommittee coordination, stakeholder alignment, risk management oversight, and governance platform administration. The Manager ensures AI tools and use cases are cataloged, assessed, monitored, and validated in alignment with enterprise control standards, regulatory obligations, and internal risk management requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead a team of two Senior Analysts responsible for execution of AI governance operations and oversight activities
  • Direct monitoring and independent evaluation of AI tools and use cases to verify completion of required governance guardrails, approvals, and risk mitigation requirements
  • Lead cross-functional governance discussions with stakeholders across IT, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other control functions to support AI risk reviews and decision-making
  • Own and administer the GRC tool used to inventory, track, monitor, and report on AI use cases across the lifecycle
  • Lead and drive analysis, aggregation, and reporting of governance metrics for leadership and governance committee forums, including use case inventory, risk ratings, monitoring outcomes, and open action items
  • Manage escalation workflows, exception handling, and remediation tracking for AI governance issues and control gaps
  • Maintain and enhance governance policies, procedures, standards, templates, and audit-ready records supporting AI oversight activities
  • Monitor emerging developments in AI governance, model risk management, and regulatory requirements, and translate changes into operational governance practices

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science/Statistics, Information Systems / IT, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5- 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Model Risk Management and second-line validation experience in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with and the demonstrated ability to challenge solution designs through governance questions on data access, tool permissions, failure handling, and monitoring sufficiency
  • Practical experience evaluating agentic AI risk and controls, including tool-enabled agents, RAG architecture, guardrails, context and tool authorization boundaries, and related control risks.

Added bonus if you have

  • Master's or graduate degree in Data Science or Machine Learning, Computer Science (AI/ML focus), or Information Systems.
  • Experience reviewing or validating agentic implementations that use tool orchestration, retrieval systems, and policy guardrails.
  • Experience establishing governance controls for AI assistants, including approval criteria, exception handling, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Ability to independently assess whether AI is necessary versus traditional software approaches based on risk, explainability, and control requirements.

What we'll bring

During your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities. A few highlights include:

  • A work environment built on teamwork, flexibility and respect
  • Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career, as well as tuition reimbursement
