AI Specialist

Location: Pontiac, MI
Duration: 6 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Specialist to support enterprise AI adoption, coordinate AI pilot initiatives, strengthen AI governance, and promote responsible use of artificial intelligence across organizational departments.

This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on program support, including AI pilot coordination, governance, vendor management, user enablement, training, adoption tracking, and executive reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate AI pilot initiatives, establish success criteria, and track outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain, and mature an enterprise AI governance framework in collaboration with cybersecurity, privacy, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain an enterprise inventory of AI tools, vendors, pilots, and use cases.
  • Manage access, licensing, usage, token consumption, and costs associated with enterprise AI platforms.
  • Coordinate AI vendors, demonstrations, deliverables, technical issues, and resolution activities.
  • Lead AI Communities of Practice and departmental AI champion programs.
  • Coordinate onboarding, training, guidance, and ongoing support for AI users.
  • Work with departments to identify high-value AI opportunities and promote successful use cases.
  • Track AI adoption, costs, business value, productivity improvements, and measurable efficiency gains.
  • Develop executive dashboards and provide regular updates to leadership.
  • Support responsible AI adoption, including privacy, security, governance, and risk-management practices.
  • Develop documentation, guidelines, standards, and communication materials related to enterprise AI usage.
  • Facilitate workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and AI enablement activities.
  • Monitor emerging AI capabilities and assess their potential enterprise applications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technology initiatives, enterprise software projects, or technology programs.
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or comparable solutions.
  • Understanding of AI governance, privacy, cybersecurity, responsible AI, and enterprise technology risk.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Experience coordinating multiple initiatives, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public-sector or government experience.
  • Experience developing or implementing AI governance frameworks.
  • Experience managing enterprise AI licensing, usage, and vendor relationships.
  • Change management experience.
  • Experience developing AI training programs and facilitating user communities.
  • Agile and/or PMP certification.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and measuring technology adoption and business value.
