AI Safety & Responsible AI Lead

Responsible AI | AI Governance | Model Risk | Ethical AI
Level: Governance Lead / Senior Manager / Director-Level Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an AI Safety & Responsible AI Lead to define and implement practical governance across enterprise AI platforms and citizen-development initiatives. This role ensures AI systems are safe, fair, explainable, transparent, compliant and continuously monitored.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define Responsible AI policies, risk taxonomies, control frameworks and governance operating models.
  • Establish processes for AI use-case intake, risk assessment, approvals, production readiness, monitoring and issue escalation.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks covering fairness, bias, explainability, privacy, robustness, hallucinations, harmful outputs and human oversight.
  • Define guardrails for LLMs, RAG systems, agentic workflows and high-risk banking use cases such as KYC, credit underwriting, financial crime and sanctions screening.
  • Govern citizen-development solutions built using Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Lead AI impact assessments, control reviews, remediation planning and incident-escalation processes.
  • Establish metrics for bias, safety violations, hallucinations, behaviour drift and user feedback.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, model risk, cybersecurity, audit, data, product and engineering teams.
Required Skills
  • Strong expertise in Responsible AI, AI ethics, model governance, model risk, fairness, explainability, privacy and safety.
  • Experience implementing AI governance controls in enterprise or production environments.
  • Understanding of LLM risks, including hallucination, bias, toxicity, prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe automation and overreliance.
  • Ability to translate policies and regulatory requirements into practical engineering, operational and audit controls.
  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder management and experience developing scalable governance frameworks.
Preferred Experience
  • Banking, insurance, fintech, consulting, model risk, regulatory risk or data-governance experience.
  • Experience building AI risk taxonomies, control libraries, governance models and Responsible AI playbooks.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform, Copilot Studio, global AI governance frameworks, model validation, privacy regulations and audit requirements.
