AI ENGINEER
The company is seeking an AI Engineer - AI/ML SME to provide SETA support government teams developing or assessing AI-enabled applications and tools. in Hanover, MD.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the review of architectures, development approaches, model usage patterns, and technical risk areas.
Stay current on rapid changes in the AI ecosystem and provide informed recommendations on emerging tools and practices.
Assess solutions involving LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agentic workflows, orchestration layers, and prompt pipelines.
Advise on AI engineering considerations such as latency, reliability, observability, testability, guardrails, and data flow.
Evaluate and compare modern AI frameworks, agentic libraries, and experimentation harnesses for suitability in mission use cases.
Support test and evaluation activities for AI tools, including performance assessment, qualitative review, and workflow validation. - Assist with the development of technical guidance, prototypes, engineering recommendations, and briefings for government stakeholders.
Collaborate with platform engineers, product leads, mission users, and government leadership to ensure AI efforts remain technically grounded and operationally relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or computer science
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering supporting DoD programs (5 years of AI experience in commercial setting may be substituted)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, computer programming
  • Relevant certifications in cloud, systems engineering, cybersecurity, or platform operations

SECURITY CLEARANCE
• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance required
