Data Engineer / AI Engineer (Co-op)

We are seeking a motivated and curious Data Engineer / AI Engineer to join our team. This co-op / internship offers hands-on experience at the forefront of Generative AI and automation. You will have the opportunity to learn and work with cutting-edge technologies within our Agentic Frameworks to refine their usage in a modern Databricks environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Prototype AI Agents: Assist in building and testing AI agents designed to automate internal workflows or enhance data retrieval processes.
  • AI Training: Provide feedback to enhance and optimize the output of agents.
  • Prompt Engineering & Tuning: Experiment with and refine system prompts to improve the accuracy and reliability of outputs.
  • Monitor Model Performance: Identify "hallucinations" or inconsistencies in AI responses and suggest improvements for model grounding.
  • Collaborate with Agile Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise applications and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Explore Emerging AI Tools: Research and test new frameworks in the Agentic AI space under the guidance of senior AI and Data Engineers.
  • Document AI Architectures: Help document model schemas, API integrations, and AI governance standards.

Learning & Development Opportunities

  • Hands-on training in Generative AI and Agentic technologies.
  • Mentorship from senior AI Engineers and Data Scientists working on enterprise-scale deployments.
  • Practical experience building on Cloud/SaaS infrastructure (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).

Qualifications

  • Current graduate student in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field
