Position Overview
Raymour & Flanigan is seeking a talented freelance Studio Photographer to support our in-house creative studio. This role is responsible for capturing high-quality lifestyle and product photography that brings our brand, products, and customer experience to life across digital and marketing channels.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role centered on photography first, with the ability to support video capture as needed. Working from established shot lists, creative direction, and production plans, you will execute lighting, composition, and camera work to deliver consistent, production-ready imagery.
The ideal candidate has strong experience photographing interiors and lifestyle room environments across a wide range of design aesthetics and product categories. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative studio environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with others, brings a positive mindset, and is comfortable working within a smaller, highly collaborative studio team.
This freelance opportunity is designed to support ongoing collaboration and provides the potential for long-term partnership as the team continues to grow and evolve.
What You'll Do
  • Capture lifestyle and product photography across in-studio environments
  • Photograph visually compelling interior room environments across a variety of furniture styles and aesthetics
  • Execute camera, lighting, and photographic setup based on established creative direction
  • Follow shot lists, framing guidelines, and production plans to ensure consistency across assets
  • Work efficiently across multiple sets and scenes within structured production schedules
  • Maintain accuracy in product representation, including color, material, scale, texture, and styling details
  • Create balanced, inviting room imagery that highlights both product detail and overall spatial composition
  • Adapt lighting and camera settings to meet the needs of each scene while maintaining brand standards
  • Support video capture as needed, ensuring continuity in lighting and framing
  • Perform light retouching and image cleanup to deliver production-ready selects
  • Organize and prepare files for post-production and downstream asset usage
  • Collaborate closely with creative, styling, merchandising, and production teams to support smooth studio workflow
  • Stay informed on emerging tools and technologies, including AI-assisted workflows that support efficiency in image capture, editing, selection, and asset preparation

What We're Looking For
  • Professional experience in commercial, retail, lifestyle, interior, or studio photography
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interior, lifestyle, and product photography
  • Strong experience photographing interiors, home furnishings, or lifestyle environments across multiple design styles preferred
  • Deep understanding of studio lighting, composition, camera systems, and spatial storytelling
  • Experience working within structured production environments and shot-driven workflows
  • Ability to execute at a high level while following established creative direction
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in product accuracy and visual consistency
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting without sacrificing quality
  • Comfortable working hands-on within a lean, collaborative studio environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential
  • Working knowledge of video capture is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and position furniture, props, and studio equipment as needed
  • Awareness of emerging AI tools in photography and content production, with an understanding of how they can support workflow efficiency

Tools & Experience (Preferred)
  • DSLR or mirrorless camera systems
  • Studio strobe lighting setups for still photography
  • Tethered shooting workflows (Capture One or similar)
  • Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Basic retouching skills including color correction and cleanup
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for image editing, cleanup, or workflow optimization
  • Bonus: Experience with video capture and lighting for motion content
