Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group math instruction to students identified as needing intervention.
  • Develop and implement effective math intervention plans tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Use data-driven assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies into the regular classroom setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of math curriculum and instructional materials that support diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math instruction and intervention.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning that helps foster students' intellectual, social and emotional development.
  • Provide daily instruction, including clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons and high-quality assessments that align to Friendship's curriculum and standards.
  • Incorporate into lessons creative, hands-on learning experiences that broaden students' exposure and interests, help foster student ingenuity and require application of knowledge and skills acquired through daily instruction.
  • Provide a classroom environment that is visually appealing, rich with resources aligned to curriculum and standards and honors student's achievement with current and accurate displays of exemplary student work.
  • Communicate to students to understand their talents, interests and needs and to convey learning expectations and their progress toward meeting those expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with families to identify students' talents, interests and needs and update parents regarding students' achievements and progress.
  • Collaborate with school-based staff and throughout the Friendship network in staff meetings, regular analysis sessions and professional learning designed to enhance students' learning experience and increase student achievement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Commitment to providing a world-class education to students from historically underserved communities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the role 
  • Identified as "in field"
    • Has a university degree in their field of teaching;
    • Has an active certification in their field of teaching; and/or
    • Has demonstrated at least one year of effective teaching in their field as measured by the LEA's teacher evaluation system.
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and/or continuing education
