Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance GIS platform components including experience APIs and supporting UIs
  • Design, develop, and optimize RESTful backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS with an AI first software engineering mindset using GitHub copilot
  • Install, maintain, manage and support the ArcGIS Enterprise platform and products (Portal, Server, Data Store)
  • Configure and support Oracle as an ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase
  • Develop and maintain ArcGIS ST_Geometry functions in Oracle for spatial data management

  • Develop Python and PowerShell scripts using ArcPy, ArcGIS Pro models, and Jupyter Notebooks to automate business processes, analytics, and data workflows
  • Support and enhance Python-based processes leveraging ArcGIS, ArcPy APIs, and GIS functions
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines aligned with Enterprise DevOps practices
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and configuration guides to support long-term maintainability and platform stability

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend development
  • Solid understanding of GIS concepts with hands-on experience using Esri ArcGIS technologies
  • Strong experience with relational databases hosting ArcGIS SDE Enterprise Geodatabases, specifically Oracle, including database procedural development and use of ArcGIS ST_Geometry functions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with both technical teams and business
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field, or comparable experience

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or Snowflake databases
  • Familiarity with natural peril risk modeling and evaluation techniques
