Job description

About Theo Ai

Theo Ai builds the tools that are changing how litigation actually gets done. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with the attorneys who use our products — people who expect precision, speed, and judgment — and we hold ourselves to that same bar. Our two legal AI product lines turn the messy reality of legal work into something faster and sharper, so that lawyers can spend their time on strategy and outcomes instead of grunt work.

We’re a small, highly collaborative team where everyone has meaningful ownership, works closely with customers, and helps shape the product. We value curiosity, initiative, thoughtful communication, and people who aren't afraid to raise their hand, challenge ideas, and solve hard problems together.

The Role

You'll own one of our legal AI product lines from customer discovery through product delivery. Working directly with litigators, you'll uncover how legal work actually happens, translate those workflows into clear product requirements, and partner with Engineering to bring them to life.

This role sits at the intersection of law, customers, and technology. You'll serve as the voice of the customer, helping Engineering understand not just what to build, but why it matters. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Legal Ops, and Go-to-Market, you'll have significant ownership from day one and the opportunity to shape both the product and how we work.

Success in this role isn't about checking every product management box, it's about understanding litigators, asking great questions, and translating legal complexity into products customers love.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner directly with customers to understand litigation workflows, uncover pain points, and translate customer feedback, usage data, and market insights into product requirements and prioritization decisions.
  • Own the roadmap and delivery for one of our legal AI products, balancing what customers need now against where the platform is headed.
  • Drive execution across engineering, design, and data science by managing the backlog, writing product requirements, removing blockers, and helping the team ship quickly.
  • Keep the whole company aligned — leadership, legal ops, and go-to-market — on what’s being built, what’s being traded off, and when it lands.
  • Team up with account management and sales throughout discovery, onboarding, customer conversations, and product demonstrations when legal expertise is needed.
  • Define success metrics and use experimentation to validate product direction before scaling investments.
  • Be the litigation expert in the room, pressure-testing that what we build holds up to how attorneys really practice.

What You’ll Bring

You come from the world of law, but you’ve always been more interested in how the work could be done than in how it’s always been done. Now you want to build the tools, not just use them.

  • J.D., LLM, or equivalent law degree (LLB or equivalent international qualification).
  • Practical litigation experience, with familiarity across legal research, case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in product management, legal technology, solutions engineering, customer success, or similar experience translating customer needs into product improvements.
  • Passion for improving how legal work gets done through technology, with the curiosity and adaptability to continuously learn.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex legal concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative, ownership-oriented mindset—you proactively identify problems and drive work forward.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AI/ML and natural language processing in legal applications.
  • Experience with product tools such as Linear, Asana, or Productboard.
  • Familiarity with agile product development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis, PACER, court filing systems).
  • Comfort using data and experimentation to inform product decisions.

Why Join Us

Grow in a rare direction

  • Join a small team where your ideas quickly become product. You'll work alongside experienced legal and product leaders, partner directly with customers, and help shape the future of legal AI from the ground up.
  • Learn directly from the people building the company — close mentorship from experienced founders, advisors, and investors.
  • Work in a culture that takes excellence seriously and people seriously, with real investment in your growth and your life outside work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits package
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 20 days of paid time off
  • Wellness & growth perks: Culina nutrition coaching, Future fitness membership, professional coaching, and a Whoop device
  • Hybrid schedule (San Francisco office on Wednesdays)
  • Approximately 10–25% annual travel

To Apply

We'd love to hear from you. Submit your resume and, if you'd like, a short note telling us why you're excited about building AI products for litigators.
