Job description

Description:

AI Agent Developer – Microsoft Fabric & Power BI

We are looking for an experienced AI Agent Developer with strong Microsoft Fabric and Power BI expertise to join an existing initiative and continue building and enhancing solutions on the Microsoft data and AI platform.

This person will work hands-on across Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Fabric Data Agents, helping build the data foundation, semantic models, reporting, and AI-ready data needed to support intelligent agent experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Continue the development and enhancement of existing AI and analytics solutions built on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Build and optimize Power BI semantic models to support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases
  • Develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, including slicers, filters, visuals, and user-friendly reporting experiences
  • Prepare, structure, and optimize enterprise data for use by AI agents and generative AI applications
  • Build, configure, and enhance Microsoft Fabric Data Agents
  • Develop and execute evaluations for Fabric Data Agents to measure accuracy, relevance, and overall performance
  • Ensure semantic models and underlying data are structured appropriately for AI-driven querying and insights
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing Fabric, Power BI, and AI Agent implementations
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
  • Support data ingestion, pipelines, notebooks, and data transformation when new data sources or adjustments are required
  • Make updates to existing data architecture and supporting components as needed

Requirements: Required Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Advanced Power BI development experience
  • Experience designing and building Power BI semantic models
  • Strong experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, slicers, and visualizations
  • Experience preparing and modeling data for AI/GenAI use cases
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric Data Agents
  • Understanding of AI agent evaluation, testing, and performance optimization
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, relationships, measures, and analytics concepts
  • Ability to work within an existing environment, understand what has already been built, and independently continue development
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Fabric Data Factory / data pipelines
  • Experience developing and maintaining Fabric notebooks
  • Experience with data ingestion and transformation within Microsoft Fabric
  • Familiarity with OneLake, Lakehouse, and/or Warehouse architectures
  • SQL, DAX, Power Query/M, and Python experience
  • Experience integrating structured enterprise data with AI agents, copilots, or other GenAI solutions
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is more than a traditional Power BI report developer. We are looking for someone who understands the intersection of data, analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and AI agents and can take existing work, understand the architecture quickly, and continue building. This is a hands-on development role for someone comfortable moving between semantic modeling, Power BI reporting, AI-ready data preparation, Fabric Data Agents, and—when necessary—the underlying pipelines and notebooks that support the solution.
