Our Opportunity
We are looking for an Agronomist for our West TN marketplace to serve GreenPoint retail and member cooperative locations. Our culture fosters a connected work environment, employee engagement, and career development.
Summary/Objective
Responsible for field-level agronomic technical support and trials for assigned retail/member cooperative locationsand their grower customers in assignedareas. Responsible for on-farm research trials across crops, crop protection, fertilizer, and seed. This position will work closely with location managers, sellers, and agronomy counterparts on the team. Responsible for productdevelopment through research trials in conjunction with basic manufacturers and universities.
Essential Functions
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines set forth by local, state, and federalagencies
  • Works with assigned locations providing agronomic technical support and product development through conducting field trials and product evaluation of seed, crop protection, and cropnutrients
  • Contribute to agronomy training formal and informal for retaillocations
  • Work through locations to provide farm-level, agronomicexpertise
  • Provide timely execution of directives and initiatives from Agronomyleadership
  • Provide adequate and clear communication to growers, location staff, and the Agronomy team concerning job tasks, projects, execution, andtiming
  • Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible farming practices.
  • Collaboration with Ag Tech team members, GPAH Departments, Industry Agronomist, and Universities
  • Provide training and education to clients and team members on agronomic best practices.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Always represent GreenPoint Ag's Agronomic services in a professional manner
  • Perform all other job functions asassigned
Supervisor Responsibilities
May supervise interns on an intermittent basis, asapplicable
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, agribusiness, or related field
  • Specific position qualifications and progression may apply for this position based onexperience
    • Skill Level I - Entry level; works under supervision ofmanager
    • Skill Level II - Recognized locally; works without supervision with direction frommanager
    • Skill Level III - Recognized throughout state; provides direction for program inregion
    • Skill Level IV - Recognized regionally (multi-state); responsible for direction of program in region and contributing to overall direction of theprogram
    • Skill Level V (future) - Recognized across regions (multi-state); responsible for direction ofprogram
PreferredQualifications
  • Master's Degree or Higher in Agriculture related field
  • Strong agronomic and product knowledge background
  • Experience withGPAH agronomy product lines, vendors, and manufacturers is aplus
  • Experience with corn, cotton, wheat and soybeanspreferred

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in both indoor and outside work environments. Frequently exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures, wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
