What are agentic AI systems?

Agentic AI systems are artificial intelligence models designed to act autonomously and pursue goals in dynamic environments. Unlike traditional AI, which follows specific programmed instructions, agentic AI can make decisions, take actions, and adapt based on feedback or changes in its environment. These systems are often used in complex tasks such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, virtual assistants, and advanced problem-solving applications. The development of agentic AI raises important questions about safety, control, and ethical use due to their ability to make independent decisions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AI engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AI Engineer, you need a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, machine learning techniques, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java, often supported by a relevant degree in computer science or engineering. Familiarity with AI frameworks (like TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud platforms, and, in some cases, certifications such as TensorFlow Developer Certificate are typically expected. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective collaboration are crucial soft skills for tackling complex AI challenges and working in multidisciplinary teams. These skills and qualities are essential to develop, deploy, and maintain innovative AI solutions that drive business value.

How do agentic AI professionals typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement intelligent agents in business processes?

Agentic AI professionals often work closely with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to integrate intelligent agents into existing workflows. This collaboration involves understanding business requirements, designing agent behaviors, and ensuring seamless data flow between systems. Regular meetings and iterative feedback cycles are common to align technical solutions with strategic objectives. Effective communication and adaptability are key, as these roles often bridge technical and non-technical domains to achieve successful AI-driven automation.

What is the difference between Agentic Ai vs Data Analyst?

AspectAgentic AiData Analyst
Required CredentialsTypically requires knowledge of AI, machine learning, and programming languagesBachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or related field; often requires proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools
Work EnvironmentPrimarily tech companies, AI startups, or R&D departmentsBusiness, finance, healthcare, and other industries analyzing data for insights
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in AI development, automation, and machine learning projectsUsed across various industries for data interpretation and reporting
Search & Comparison IntentUnderstanding AI-focused roles versus data analysis roles

Agentic Ai roles focus on developing and implementing AI systems, requiring programming and machine learning skills. Data Analysts interpret data to inform business decisions, often using statistical tools. While both work with data, Agentic Ai professionals are more involved in AI creation, whereas Data Analysts focus on data interpretation.

Is agentic AI a good career?

Agentic AI refers to roles involving the development and deployment of autonomous AI systems, which are in demand in industries like technology, robotics, and automation. Careers in this field typically require skills in machine learning, programming, and data analysis, and can offer growth opportunities as AI technology advances.

What type of jobs are in agentic AI?

Jobs in agentic AI involve developing, training, and deploying autonomous AI systems that can perform tasks independently, such as AI research scientist, machine learning engineer, AI software developer, and data scientist. These roles typically require skills in programming, machine learning frameworks, and understanding of AI ethics and safety protocols.

Agentic AI Engineer

Envorso Sports Seattle, WA (Hybrid) or Remote, US Full-time

About Envorso Sports

Envorso Sports builds the platform that runs a professional sports team's entire fan-facing business, ticketing, website, and mobile app, from one system instead of six disconnected vendors, with commerce, CRM, and marketing automation on the near-term roadmap. The platform is live in production today with the Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby, with expansion planned across the league and into other professional sports organizations.

About the Role

The Agentic AI Engineer scales the platform two ways: as a product capability and as how the engineering team builds. On the product side, you will design agentic features that act on fan and ticketing data, including fan scoring, segmentation, and an offers engine that proposes campaigns instead of reporting on what fans did. On the engineering side, you will build and own the internal agent tooling: guardrails on what coding agents can touch, PR-review agents that check against the spec, and automated checks that keep frontend and backend in sync as API contracts change. You will also ship the front-end on web (Next.js) and mobile so the work reaches fans and marketers, not just an API. You will own the full lifecycle, from design and evaluation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration, and report into product while working daily with a tech lead and engineering team mostly based in Argentina.

What You'll Do
  • Design and ship agentic product features: fan scoring, segmentation, and an offers engine that proposes campaigns.
  • Build the front-end for those features on web (Next.js) and mobile.
  • Build and own internal agent tooling: guardrails, PR-review agents, spec-driven test generation, and frontend and backend sync checks.
  • Set the standard for model selection, cost, and evaluation, and mentor engineers adopting agentic workflows.
  • Own agent quality: catch shallow or overfit output, define what good looks like, and make failures visible.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of software engineering, with at least 1 year building and shipping AI/LLM-powered applications in production.
  • Real multi-agent design experience: tool use, memory, and orchestration.
  • Strong TypeScript, comfortable in a Next.js app and an API-service codebase; Python a plus.
  • Full-stack enough to ship end to end, including web (React/Next.js) and ideally mobile (React Native or native).
  • Ability to explain what an agent is doing and where it breaks to a non-ML engineer or product partner.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; no employer-sponsored visas for this role.
Compensation and Benefits

$145,000 base, plus bonus and benefits. Direct exposure to team owners and sports executives, live deployments and paying customers today, and early influence over engineering practice and culture.

How to Apply

To apply for this role, you must create an account on provn.co and submit all required application artifacts. Resume only applications may be considered, but candidates who complete a full application are reviewed with priority.

How hiring works here

Referrals are king for getting an interview. But what if you don't have a referral? Applying with Provn is designed to help you get more interviews. Instead of sending a cold resume into an ATS and waiting, you will complete a challenge built by Envorso Sports and submit a short video walking through your approach. No time limit. No timers. No restrictions on AI usage. Show how you build with AI.

Why that works in your favor:

  • You show how you actually build and ship with coding agents, instead of hoping a resume communicates your skill clearly.
  • Your judgment with AI becomes visible, which no "proficient with AI coding agents" resume bullet can prove.
  • One challenge puts you in front of the engineering team, scored on the work. Priority without a referral!

The hiring manager reviews every completed submission, and strongest candidates go straight to an interview round. No referral needed. Performance over pedigree. Proof over polish.
