Position Overview

Our agency client is seeking a Production Designer to provide additional creative and production support across two major experiential and event projects. This role is ideal for a strong graphic designer who also has hands-on production design experience, particularly across large-format print, environmental graphics, event signage, and physical branded environments. The overall creative direction and look-and-feel will already be established. The Production Designer will be responsible for taking those concepts and running with the execution, translating approved creative into polished, accurate, production-ready assets across a high volume of deliverables. This is not a purely conceptual graphic design role. The ideal candidate understands how design translates from a screen into a real physical environment and can design appropriately for scale, distance, production requirements, and the way people interact with graphics in a space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate established creative concepts and brand systems into production-ready graphic assets.
  • Create and adapt graphics for live events, experiential environments, signage, branded spaces, and large-format print applications.
  • Prepare accurate files for print production and fabrication.
  • Design with human scale and physical environments in mind, considering viewing distance, dimensions, proportions, readability, and placement.
  • Extend an approved visual identity across numerous event and campaign deliverables.
  • Resize, version, and adapt existing creative while maintaining strong brand consistency.
  • Apply strong design fundamentals across typography, color, composition, hierarchy, and layout.
  • Support the development of event signage, environmental messaging, promotional graphics, and other physical brand touchpoints.
  • Partner withcreative and production teams to move concepts efficiently into execution.
  • Manage multiple production requests and rounds of revisions against tight deadlines.
  • Review artwork carefully to ensure production specifications and design details are accurate.
  • Support social and digital promotional graphics as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional experience as a Production Designer, Graphic Designer, Environmental Graphic Designer, Experiential Designer, or similar creative role.
  • Strong graphic design fundamentals combined with hands-on production design experience.
  • Experience preparing production-ready print files.
  • Experience with large-format print and/or environmental graphics.
  • Experience designing for physical spaces, events, exhibits, activations, signage, retail environments, or branded environments.
  • Strong understanding of human scale and how typography, graphics, messaging, and composition translate into a physical environment.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant production design, environmental graphics, event graphics, signage, or large-format print work.
  • Excellent typography, color, composition, hierarchy, and layout skills.
  • Ability to take an established creative direction and independently run with execution.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around dimensions, layout, resolution, and production specifications.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently across multiple deliverables and rounds of revisions.
  • Comfortable operating independently with minimal handholding.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale live events or experiential activations.
  • Agency experience, particularly within an experiential, event, brand activation, or integrated creative agency.
  • Experience within automotive, sports, entertainment, live events, or consumer brands.
  • Experience designing graphics for signage, structures, stages, fan zones, vehicles, exhibits, or similar physical applications.
  • Experience working directly with print vendors, fabricators, production teams, or installation partners.
  • Social media and digital production design experience.
  • Ability to visualize how 2D graphics will translate into larger physical spaces.
