About the Role:
Registered Dietitian - Bariatric Services
Help Patients Transform Their Health Journey
Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Registered Dietitian to join our Bariatric Services team. In this role, you'll partner with patients seeking medical weight loss, before and after metabolic and bariatric surgery, providing nutrition counseling, education, and ongoing support to help them achieve lasting health and wellness goals.

Position Summary
The Registered Dietitian provides clinical nutrition assessment, counseling, and education for adult and adolescent bariatric patients. This role supports patients throughout their weight loss journey by developing individualized nutrition plans, guiding post-surgical diet progression, recommending appropriate supplementation, and promoting long-term healthy lifestyle changes.
What You'll Do
  • Provide individualized nutrition assessments and medical nutrition therapy
  • Educate patients and families on pre- and post-bariatric surgery nutrition guidelines
  • Guide patients through post-operative diet progression and lifestyle modifications
  • Recommend vitamin and protein supplementation based on ASMBS guidelines
  • Collaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in cooking classes, bariatric support groups, community education, and program initiatives
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient education records.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed Dietitian in the State of Georgia
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum one year of clinical dietitian experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest or experience in bariatric, weight management, or metabolic care
  • Membership in the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) within one year of employment
