Job description

Job Title: Porter
Job Summary: The houseman is responsible for upholding the company's cleanliness standards of all guest rooms and common areas located in the hotel. This job will entail gathering all housekeeper linen and performing laundry duties.
Job Duties:
  • Strip and gather all linen and trash from guest rooms
  • Complete and manage laundry
  • Perform porter duties as needed
  • Change and replace all bed linens and towels
  • Sanitize and clean all restrooms
  • Dust/wipe down all room surfaces including but not limited to windows, pictures, mirrors, electronics, appliances, and furniture
  • Vacuum/Mop all floors
  • Restock all room amenities
  • Assure all rooms are set up to company standards
  • Clean and maintain the hotel laundry
  • Always greet/acknowledge guests: "hello, good morning, good afternoon"
  • Offer guests assistance whenever possible
  • Respond to and follow-up on all guest requests to ensure guests are satisfied with the hotel's services and their rooms
  • Positively represent and promote the hotel
  • Understand all policies and procedures for ensuring guest safety and security
  • Inform Front Desk/Supervisor when rooms are cleaned
  • Report any maintenance, security, or other issues to the appropriate staff

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to provide superior guest service
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 25-50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to efficiently work under time constraints
