Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Music department on the Dahlonega campus. Provide general office support, including graphic development and audio recording.
Responsibilities
General Administrative Duties
  • Working back of house during all music events. Events are scheduled in the afternoon, evenings and some weekends
  • Greeting and assisting Patrons during events
  • Assisting at large annual department events (High school conferences, Alumni Weekend, Holiday Choral Concert)
  • Managing Department High School Directory

Additional duties include
  • Hanging posters for upcoming events around campus
  • Assisting with copying, sorting, filing, data entry
  • Other duties as assigned

Audio/Video Recording and Production Assistant Duties
  • Recording Music Department events at both on and off campus venues.
  • Editing/producing audio and video recordings for archival and distribution
  • Assisting with A/V and lighting needs for Music Department performances and events.
  • Assisting with general upkeep of performance and technology spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Graphic Design/Social Media:
  • Update of promotional materials
  • Creation of concert and event posters
  • Content creation for social media
  • Assisting with departmental messaging.

Photography:
  • Capture still photos of live events
  • Assisting with live streaming production of Department events.
  • Build a repository of photos for use by the department in posters
  • Photos of rehearsals, classes, lessons, etc. either live or in a 'staged¿ format
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ideal candidate will possess experience with written and verbal communication, public speaking, and time management.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate attention to detail, exhibit excellent communication skills and customer service.
  • Must have a functional knowledge of audio and video recording principles and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Knowledge of Canva
  • Facebook and Instagram
  • Excellent working knowledge of outlook, MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of DAW software principles
  • Working knowledge of analog and digital mixing console
  • Familiarity with lighting and light programing
  • Must have availability days, nights, and weekends to work events.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
