The Pump Tester is responsible for testing Armstrong commercial pump products in accordance with testing processes and procedures.


This position is in Scarborough, Ontario and is assigned to the Afternoon Shift (3:30 pm - 12:00am)


The primary accountabilities of this position are:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and unload pumps from the test stand. Set up includes connecting the pump to electrical supply and fitting test instrumentation.
  • Run the pump test as per the testing procedure using the test computer terminal
  • Assess the test results to ensure that all the criteria has passed and if not report any issues to QA.
  • Ensure that test results are saved in correct computer file locations
  • Program variable frequency drive parameters when required.


What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should bring

  • Electrical or mechanical technician experience (diploma or trade certificate in electrical or mechanical disciplines)
  • Use of computers and testing software, including Microsoft Excel and Windows Explorer
  • Experience in measurement instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure transducers and power meters
  • Experience in product testing, especially to a standard procedure or specifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in reading work orders and technical documents.
  • Strong mathematic skills - Grade 12 high school equivalent required.
  • Experience in programming VFD parameters considered an asset
  • Familiar with quality control and assurance practices such as completing inspection checks and raising non- conformance tickets
  • Having previously worked in factories that have ISO9001 accreditation is beneficial


Range: $CAD19.00 - $CAD21.00 - hourly
