Job description

Heavy Haul Dispatcher

Olinger Heavy Hauling

At Olinger Heavy Hauling, we don’t just move freight; we move the infrastructure of the future. We specialize in the "impossible" loads—the ones that require precision, nerves of steel, and expert strategy. We’re looking for a high-energy Logistics Architect to join our dispatch team and master the complex puzzle of oversized transport.

If you thrive on solving high-stakes logistical riddles and love the satisfaction of seeing a massive project cross the finish line safely, you belong here.

The Mission

As our Dispatcher, you are the mission control for our most challenging hauls. You aren't just "booking loads"—you are engineering routes, navigating bureaucracy, and serving as the lifeline for our drivers on the road.

Your Core Impact

  • Strategic Route Engineering: Design paths for the "big stuff." You’ll account for every bridge height, weight restriction, and tight corner to ensure our fleet stays moving.

  • The Permit Pro: Navigate the red tape. You’ll secure multi-jurisdictional permits and orchestrate a symphony of pilot cars and police escorts.

  • Driver Advocacy: You are the primary partner for our drivers. You’ll manage HOS compliance and load assignments while being the first person they call to solve on-road challenges.

  • Client Partnerships: Act as the face of Olinger for our brokers and customers. You’ll provide the transparency and real-time data that builds long-term trust.

  • Tech Mastery: Keep the gears turning by managing our TMS, reviewing rate cons, and maintaining the digital paper trail that keeps us legal and profitable.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Digital Fluency: You are digitally savvy and highly efficient—you navigate dispatch software and computer systems with speed and ease to keep our operations lean.

  • Heavy Haul IQ: You already speak the language of DOT regulations and understand the nuances of oversized/overweight permitting.

  • Tech Savvy: You’re a pro with GPS tracking, dispatch software, and major load boards (DAT/Truckstop).

  • Cool Under Pressure: When a route is blocked by a surprise construction zone or a mechanical issue pops up, you don’t panic—you pivot.

  • Elite Communication: You can negotiate with a broker in the morning and talk through a technical issue with a driver in the afternoon without missing a beat.

  • Industry Roots: A high school diploma is required, but your real-world experience in heavy haul logistics or behind the wheel is what truly sets you apart.

Why Olinger?

"We move the equipment that builds the world. Join a team that values precision, respects its drivers, and rewards the people who make the 'impossible' happen every day."
