Job description

School Nurse Opportunity

Embrace a rewarding opportunity to support students and educators in a vibrant educational setting near Le Roy, NY. This contract position is ideal for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about fostering student health and safety within a school environment, starting July 27 and concluding August 14 for the Extended School Year, with the potential for renewal for the upcoming school year if the placement is mutually successful.

As the dedicated RN for this assignment, you'll work one-on-one with students, respond to health concerns, and play a crucial role in daily school activities. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, that finds a balance between professional fulfillment and personal time.

Qualifications
  • Valid and active Registered Nurse license (NYS required)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
  • Strong observational, assessment, and communication skills
  • Ability to calmly handle urgent medical situations
  • Dedication to student wellbeing and collaborative care
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Assess and address immediate student health concerns
  • Maintain thorough health records and documentation
