Description

Specialty: Retina Surgeon

• Start Date: Late May/Early June
• Call Schedule: If theres an after-hours emergency, it goes to residents, then triage, then lastly to the specialist.
• Shift Details: Clinical days from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, surgeries in the morning, and patient consultations in the afternoon. Treating patients, consultants, and resident training.
• Schedule: 3-4 days per week (either), every other Monday with surgeries. Alternate weeks are Tuesday to Friday or Tuesday to Thursday. Facilitate educational sessions with residents on Thurs and/or Fri.

Work Details

• Support Staff: Optometric Technicians (trained in retina), tester/photographer, glaucoma doc, peds ophthalmologist, and neuro-ophthalmologist.
• Patients Per Day: Average of about 25 patients.
• Patient Population/Age: Primarily 60 years and older, with pediatric ophthalmologists and neuro-ophthalmologists on staff.
• EMR: Modernizing Medicine
• Special Procedures: Retina
• Skills Required: Retina tears, ruptured globes. May scrub in with the cornea specialist, but not a requirement. Must be willing to work with residents and provide them educational sessions.

• Board Certification: BC required. Fellowship.
• State License Required: MD or IMLC license.

• Minimum Experience Required: 2 years
• Credentialing Timeframe: Up to 90 days
