Job description

Strategic Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, Assistant Vice President
State Street is seeking a Strategic Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to identify, assess, and communicate cyber threats emerging from the intersection of geopolitics, emerging technologies, and the evolving global threat landscape. As part of the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) program, this role will conduct all-source intelligence analysis to help State Street anticipate and respond to threats affecting the financial sector, key dependencies, and our global operations. Key focus areas of the Strategic CTI Team include nation-state activity, cybercrime, geopolitical developments, and technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, digital assets, and quantum computing. The successful candidate will transform complex intelligence into actionable insights that drive operational decision-making, cyber defense, and executive awareness. Responsibilities include tracking adversary capabilities and intent, informing assessment of the business and operational impact of cyber threats, producing timely intelligence products, and delivering briefings to technical and executive audiences. The role requires the ability to connect global events and technological change to tangible risks facing State Street and the broader financial sector.
Who are we looking for:
We are seeking a forward-looking analyst with strong critical-thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for understanding how cyber threats evolve in response to geopolitical and technological change. The ideal candidate will operate across the full intelligence lifecycle, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and help develop innovative analytic capabilities that strengthen State Street's threat-informed decision-making and fusion operations.
What will you be responsible for:
  • Leading Strategic CTI analysis for a key geographic or functional intelligence issue
  • Collecting requirements from stakeholders and conducting research and analysis to provide timely and actionable intelligence that drives and informs the security posture of the bank.
  • Analyzing and understanding advanced cyber actors, their capabilities, and their techniques.
  • Working side by side with internal network defenders to provide intel-driven insights into existing and emerging threats.
  • Championing intelligence for broadening awareness and use of CTI services and education of best practices.
  • Processing and analyzing bodies of reporting and large data sets to identify trending threat activity across the network and global threat landscape.
  • Influencing enhancements to enterprise resiliency and operational controls.
  • Delivering timely, relevant, and actionable intelligence through reports, briefings, and threat assessments to stakeholders across the bank to improve our ability to detect and defend against threats to our environment.
  • Participating in incident response preparedness exercises (e.g. table tops & cyber ranges) as well as response to actual incidents, as needed.

What we value:
  • Exemplary analytic acumen that makes sense of chaos and sees action paths through the noise.
  • Incredible attention to detail.
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work well with others, especially under pressure.
  • Capacity to tailor analytic outlook and level of detail for all audience levels, from senior executives to tactical responders.
  • In-depth understanding of threat intelligence cycles and collection management.
  • Domain expertise in current cyber threats, geopolitical drivers, or emerging technology enablers.
  • Genuine passion for finding, understanding, and mitigating cyber threats.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).
  • Knowledge of threat hunting techniques, tools, and operational procedures.
  • Familiarization with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Knowledge of IT architecture and operations (computing, network, storage & cloud)
  • Ability to work in an environment with a geographically dispersed team.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
