The Rides Lead will assist in the supervision of the Rides Hosts working throughout the amusement park. This position directly supports the Rides Manager with efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.
This position requires strong leadership skills to answer questions and help coach and train other Ride Operators and Attendants for the operating season. This position will also conduct daily audits to ensure sure the park's safety and operating policies are being properly followed.

Adventureland Park - Rides Lead

Roles & Responsibilities:

    Supervisory Duties:

    • Assistwith the dailysupervisionof theRidesteamand any other assigned departments

    • Lead by example, attitude, and asa representation ofAdventureland'score values

    • Act asan approachable mentor and coach to all assignedHosts

    • Becomeknowledgeable ofperforming the essential dutiesof allridespositionsand backfill thesepositionswhen needed

    • Participate innew-hire orientation and training activities for all assignedHosts

    • Ensure that all requiredmealand other breaksare being givenin accordance withIowalaw

    • Assistwithteamscheduling and timekeeping activitiesif needed

    Departmental Duties:

    • Ensure asmooth and continuousoperation of all assignedridesand attractions

    • Providesdirectsupport to otherridesHostsbymaking roundsthroughout the park to check on their needs

    • Provide coverageso thatHostsmay take bathroom breaks

    • Maintain a vast knowledge of allridesin the park andcanjump in toassistoroperate,when necessary

    • Overseesguest feedback and escalatescomplaintsor issuesto the proper authorities, when appropriate

    • Enforce Park policies,riderestrictionsandriderecommendations

    • Ensuresafe operation of therideby alwaysadhering tostandard operating proceduresandestablishedtrainings

    • Reportrides-related issuesand failurestoPark Leadership and Maintenanceteamsin a prompt manner

    • Maintain constant vigilance to proactivelyidentifypotential hazardsandinformspark leadership of any concerns

    • Protect guest belongings, turnsin lost and found itemsassoon astime allows

    • Promptly notifythesecurityteamor the park operator ofHostand guest injuriesor emergencies

    • All other dutiesassigned byleadership

    Education& Experience:

    • There isno minimum education requirement.

    • 1+season of work experience in theRidesDepartment isrequired.Previousrideoperation experience from other Amusement/Theme Parkemployerswill also be considered.

    • AllRidesHostsmust go through the InternationalRideOperator Certification(iROC)course asa partof the training.Successful course completion isrequiredfor thisposition. There isno costtotheHostfor the course.

    Languages:Ability to read, write, andspeak fluent EnglishSpanish or other bilingual languageskillsare a plus.

    Requirements:

    • Must be atleast 18 yearsof age tocomply withIowaChild Labor Laws

    • Ability to work flexibleschedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
