Job Summary

The Senior Data Analytics and Insights Analyst will lead the development of cutting-edge data models, datasets, and dashboards while mentoring junior team members and driving best practices in data analytics and insights. The Senior Data Analytics and Insights Analyst will interact with other teams to form a data-driven culture leveraging metrics and KPIs and strategic analysis on company performance and trends. The role requires the following capabilities: excellent communication skills, especially the ability to respectfully challenge and influence; strong problem-solving/analytical skills, strong data management skills, and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Data Analysis & Insights:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex data models, datasets and interactive dashboards using Tableau to guide strategic decision-making.

  • Perform in-depth analyses of large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.

  • Develop and present key business insights to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.

  • Ensure all BI solutions align with organizational objectives and business goals.

Advanced Data Management & Optimization:

  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data across multiple databases, with a primary focus on Snowflake.

  • Oversee the design, enhancement, and maintenance of data pipelines to ensure data accuracy, quality, and efficiency.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Snowflake, guiding the organization in leveraging it as the central data platform for advanced analytics.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Partner with business units and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define KPIs, ensuring BI solutions address key business challenges.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

  • Mentor junior BI team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in a BI Analyst or similar role, working with large, complex datasets.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and data warehousing concepts, with hands-on experience using Snowflake/Databricks or other cloud-based platforms.

  • Strong background in Salesforce, Workday and Talent Acquisition reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite executives.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the insurance industry or a similar data-driven environment.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R.

  • Expertise in data visualization storytelling and dashboard design best practices.
