Data Platform Operations Analyst

Position Description:
CGI is seeking an Operations Analyst to join the Advantage Insight team supporting the operational health, stability, and performance of our enterprise data integration platform.
This role is responsible for monitoring and supporting data ingestion, streaming, transformation, and reporting processes across the Insight platform. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of production issues, execute operational runbooks, support planned maintenance activities, and maintain data quality across client environments.
The Operations Analyst will support technologies including Debezium, Kafka, Snowflake, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Rancher, and Power BI. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically inclined operations professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex data platforms, working with cloud-based technologies, and supporting mission-critical enterprise systems.
Location: This role must be performed from CGI Lafayette, LA Office.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Platform Monitoring & Incident Response
• Monitor IAP alerts and operational dashboards.
• Triage and respond to:
o Connector availability issues
o Consumer lag breaches
o Pod-down events
o Snowflake task failures
• Respond within established operational service levels and escalation procedures.
Data Pipeline Operations
• Execute Debezium connector restart, redeploy, and Kafka offset reset procedures for Oracle LogMiner, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server source environments.
• Recreate stale Snowflake streams and resume associated tasks as required.
• Perform operational validation to ensure data pipeline continuity and integrity.
Planned Maintenance & Source Database Activities
• Coordinate planned source database activities including:
o Database bounces
o Refreshes
o Blue-Green switchovers
o Cadence package upgrades
• Follow documented runbook procedures to prevent data loss and maintain platform stability.
• Support CDC re-enablement and validation activities following maintenance events.
Reporting & Analytics Support
• Maintain and refresh Power BI semantic models and reports.
• Troubleshoot:
o Dataset refresh failures
o Gateway connectivity issues
o Workspace and reporting configuration issues
• Support operational reporting and data validation activities.
Ticket Management & Operational Documentation
• Log CAPS and Engineering tickets in Jira with complete diagnostic details and supporting information.
• Track incidents through resolution and closure.
• Contribute improvements, lessons learned, and operational fixes back into runbooks and support documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of operational procedures and knowledge-sharing practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 5 to 7 years of experience supporting enterprise data integration, data operations, platform operations, or production support environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, source connectors, Schema Registry, topic offsets, and consumer lag diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake including:
o Streams
o Tasks
o Time Travel / Retention
o Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
o SQL-based troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Understanding of Oracle LogMiner and CDC concepts including:
o SCN windows
o Redo/archive logs
o Undo tablespaces
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and SQL Server CDC processes and enablement workflows.
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud environments including:
o Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
o Kubernetes
o Storage
o Networking
o Identity management
• Ability to review Rancher and kubectl outputs and identify pod, resource, and workload issues.
• Experience building, maintaining, or supporting Power BI semantic models and reports.
• Understanding of dataset refresh, gateway management, and workspace administration.
• Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow documented operational procedures in production environments.
• Experience documenting issues clearly and maintaining high-quality ticketing and operational records.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting CGI Advantage Financials, HRM, Procurement, or comparable large-scale enterprise data sources.
• Familiarity with automation tools, application performance monitoring (APM) solutions, and Jira workflows.
• Experience with Python or PowerShell scripting for validation checks, operational reporting, or basic automation.
• Exposure to cloud-native operations, enterprise data platforms, or large-scale analytics environments.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $156,700.00.
