Job Summary:
SimIS Inc. is an innovative information technology solution Veteran Owned Small Business that focuses on modeling future environments and securing enterprises from threats. They are seeking a Data Engineer to provide technical and analytical support for Operational Test and Evaluation of US Navy Undersea Warfare systems, involving test planning, data collection, and analysis.
Responsibilities:
• provide technical and analytical support to Operational Test and Evaluation Force (T&E) in the definition, conduct, and analysis of structured Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of US Navy Undersea Warfare systems
• apply current knowledge of the Navy and multi-service missions, operations, logistics, management, and organizational responsibilities to plan and organize work tasks leading to the successful execution of test planning, collecting data, and performing reconstruction and analysis for complex test and evaluation projects
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS degree in in Data Science, Computer/Information Science, Information Systems Management, Digitization Management, Management of Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering
• 4 years of demonstrated experience and proficiency in data analysis functions such as data mining, data cleaning, data integration, data reduction/manipulation, data transformation, data visualization, and data analysis of small to large data sets
• Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis in a programming or statistical software suite such as: R, Python, SAS, SPSS, STATA, Tableau, and/or PowerBI for small to large data sets
• Proficient in the design, implementation, and operation of data management systems to support management of applicable test data
• Demonstrated experience in the development of data collection plans to include methods, and storage of raw and processed test data
• Experience in the verification and validation of data collection and accreditation plans in support of test planning
• Experience in the coordination of the equipment necessary to implement data collection during testing
Preferred:
• Knowledge of the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML) into data analysis software
• Database Management
• Analysis of structured and unstructured data
• Backend database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.)
• Possess a Certified Analytics Professional certification
