Art Teacher - Studio Art - Part time
One River School of Art + Design — Larchmont, NY

Join One River School of Art + Design to teach and mentor motivated students, work alongside practicing artists in a creative community, and grow with a team that invests in your development—from day one.

What you’ll do:
  1. Teach Studio Classes: Teach weekly art classes from 3pm to 7pm during the week and during the day on Saturdays for a variety of ages (K-12)

  2. Ensure Student Success: Ensure student success in the studio by actively engaging with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth

  3. Provide Hospitality Service & Communication: Conduct proactive check-ins with parents, students and families, support makeup scheduling, discuss student progress and opportunities for growth, upsells to additional classes / camps.

  4. Implement One River Methodology Curriculum: Review lesson plans/resources on time and implement the One River Method through each class effectively and contribute to lesson plan development regularly

  5. Run a best-in-class studio: Maintain the art studio. Clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and keep track of art supply inventory

Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for K–12 and/or adults.

  • Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.

  • Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment

  • Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students-first” mindset

Schedule & Compensation:
  • This is a Part time position with afternoon, evening and Saturday teaching hours
