Job description

Position Summary: This employment opportunity is a part-time position of dedication, service, caring, and compassion for helping at-risk youth in our Kansas City HALO Center through program planning and youth relationship building. This position consists of afternoon and evening, Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with HALO Center Program Manager to transport HALO youth to and from Center programs

  • Collaborate with Center Facilitator and volunteer teams to plan and facilitate HALO Art & Life Skill lesson plans to youth residing in partnering shelters and within HALO Center

  • Coordinating meal donations to accompany programs, creating a welcoming environment for meal volunteers and youth participants at all times

  • Track youth participation and retention in the Center to support program outcomes via Apricot

  • Organize donations and lead thank you process for HALO Center Pantry and Power Pack supplies

  • Assist with special events and projects as necessary

Education and Experience:

  • Must be passionate about helping youth in need and have previous experience working with at-risk populations is preferred.

  • High school degree or equivalent with at least 1 year experience in a professional setting

  • Must exhibit strong organizational and communication skills. Works well in a team atmosphere, highly motivated and take initiative on projects

  • Candidates must have a clean driving record and obtain a Class E drivers license within 30 days of employment and pass a background check

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
