Helping Hands Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide specialized care to individuals navigating the complex aftermath of trauma, including conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

Located in Joliet, Illinois, Helping Hands Counseling Services is a community health clinic committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals affected by trauma. This role is conducted remotely, allowing for flexibility and balance in your work life. • Conduct trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients’ histories and identify needs, enabling tailored therapeutic approaches.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental health improvement.
• Utilize evidence-based therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
• Deliver engaging individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients in processing traumatic events and developing effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary professionals to ensure integrated care, sharing valuable insights regarding each patient’s treatment journey.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients during trauma-related emergencies, reinforcing their safety and security.
• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma-related responses, coping methods, and available resources within the community.
• Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and quality care.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care practices.
• Commit to ongoing learning by staying informed on the latest research and emerging best practices in trauma therapy.

Our focus is primarily on individuals who have experienced trauma, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and other distressing life events. By adopting a trauma-informed approach, you will work closely with patients to build trust and safety, fostering an environment conducive to healing and growth.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities specific to trauma recovery and resilience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, characterized by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and essential computer applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to holistic patient care.

• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting focused on trauma-informed care.
• Demonstrated experience with trauma-focused therapies and interventions is highly desirable.
• Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural sensitivities associated with trauma.

The salary range for this position is USD 80,000 to 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
