What is needed for this job:
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services and two years of experience with children.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills.
- Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.
- Ability to pass all relevant clerances
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Planning of the curriculum.
- Prepare and implement daily age/developmentally appropriate activities.
- Oversee the safety and location of all the youth in your group.
- Actively participate with the youth in all activities. Ensure proper clean up and maintenance of all materials.
- Maintain sensitivity and patience with youth and parents. Always maintain confidentiality.
- Notify the site director of any personal or programmatic problems and suggestions. Maintain paperwork (curriculum, lesson plans, parent communication, and incident reports).
- Attend all necessary YMCA/DPW/DHS/OST trainings.
- Attend Staff Meetings/Team Teaching Meetings/Back to School Nights.
- Participate as a YMCA team member and contribute to the attainment of the YMCA mission.
- Know the mission and be able to apply it to your job responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
