* Afterschool positions will be offered based on student enrollment and available funding.  A minimum enrollment of 10 students per teacher is required for each session in order to provide afterschool services.  Positions may be terminated if funding ends or enrollment is insufficient.   

Positions

  1. Enrichment Teacher (Offered 4 Nights Per Week/30 minutes per session)

Job Description

  • Provide afterschool instruction based upon program design and student needs.

  • Document afterschool lessons following program guidelines.

  • Attend all professional development related to afterschool duties, including three mandatory days of training prior to the start of the school year.

  • Complete required documentation, including attendance for all students, in an accurate and timely manner, and maintain afterschool records.

  • Intentional planning and preparations.

  • Implement STC's Enrichment block with fidelity and use resources provided. 

  • Organize and maintain program materials and space.

  • Intentional planning and preparations are made to build on a theme, in collaboration with the Read Aloud Tutor, when applicable.

  • Regular progress monitoring requirements are met, as instructed in the enrichment manual.

  • Regular attendance tracking, activity logs, & progress monitoring requirements are met, as instructed.

  • Recruit and sign up students weekly.

  • Lesson plans are submitted weekly to the Site Coordinator.

  • Align afterschool activities with regular-day programming.

  • Participate in all trainings related to the components they will be implementing.

  • Assist with organizing and maintaining program materials and space.

  • Assist in administering all required assessments.

  • Incorporate one hour of planning time into the weekly schedule to analyze progress monitoring.

  • Collect and analyze data and plan for appropriate instruction. 

  • Be mindful of diverse learners and make adaptations to create an inclusive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with Save the Children's Lead Associate to foster an understanding of safeguarding and data protection policies through ongoing training and technical assistance.

  • Work closely with all program staff to ensure consistent reporting of safeguarding risks and incidents; strong methodology in the field for managing risks and following reporting protocols;

  • Supply proper documentation in support of incident reports as needed and collect data on safeguarding risks and efforts to mitigate risks in the program environment.

  • Make intentional, regular efforts to remain up-to-date on key local and state child welfare policies and reporting protocols.

  • Follow all key local and state child welfare policies and reporting protocols.

  • In association with program training and technical assistance efforts, update/communicate.

  • "Keep Children Safe" messaging to volunteers, beneficiaries, and representatives, as needed.

  • Ensure data protection by collecting consent and maintaining records for designated time periods.

  • Storing all data in a secure location, and protecting any shared data through encryption or by sharing to a secure location.

  • Complete all required Save the Children Safeguarding trainings.

  • Submit attendance and activity logs to the Program Site Coordinator as designated by program policy.

  • Communicate with regular-day teachers to provide Support for Personalized Learning (SPL).

  • Involve parents by utilizing volunteers, scheduling parent activities, and conducting family nights.

Terms of Employment

September 8, 2026 - April 22, 2027

(Make-up days will be added in the event afterschool is cancelled.)

Teachers must complete applicable training sessions.

Teachers must complete training in Microsoft Office Teams and be prepared to offer instruction through Teams in the event of a school closure.

Qualifications 

Teaching certification required.  However, in the event that no fully certified teacher is available, candidates with substitute teaching experience or service personnel will be considered.  Also, candidates not employed by Clay County Schools who have expertise and experience in enrichment areas will be considered pending a satisfactory background check.  

Compensation

$22.00 per hour for certified staff and $20.00 per hour for non-certified staff (up to 3 hours per evening depending on location and bus schedule)
