Job description

As a Video Editor / Motion Graphics Artist you will be responsible for developing creative concepts, collaborating on visual direction and execution and seeing video projects through from concept to completion. You have a clear understanding of the differences of how viewers consume content for different channels and can develop narratives focused on defining and delivering brand image for a multitude to channels including social, retail, media and beyond. As a video editor / motion graphics designer, you excel at creating complex animations using a variety of motion graphics and editing tools. Finally, this team will interface with our video creation team to collectively deliver and experiment with video throughout the creative funnel. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in brainstorming and developing creative concepts for video content and motion graphics projects.

  • Support the creative team in storyboard creation, script development, and project planning.

  • Learn to design and produce basic motion graphics, animations, and visual effects using industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and others.

  • Assist with video editing tasks, including assembling raw footage, adding transitions, and optimizing audio.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in video production and motion graphics, and apply new techniques to your work.

  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements, provide input, and contribute to project execution.

  • Maintain organized files and assets, and follow established workflows and processes to ensure efficient production.

  • Take direction from senior team members and actively seek feedback to improve your skills and grow as a designer.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in video editing and motion graphics with a strong portfolio of work.

  • A strong passion for visual storytelling and a desire to learn and grow in the field of video production and motion graphics.

  • Attention to detail and a willingness to collaborate and take direction from senior team members.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm for learning, and a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 1 - 2 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills:

Proficiency with motion design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator). Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite.
