Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics seeks a highly motivated, agile, and enthusiastic engineer to join the Airborne Software Department on the F 22 program as a Sr Staff Software Engineer. In this role you will steer the technical development and evolution of mission critical aircraft software for the Stores Management System (SMS) team, blending deep domain knowledge with strong leadership.

• Contribute to documentation and configuration management, leveraging tools such as IBM DOORS.

Basic Qualifications
• Expert proficiency in C++ or C.
• Experience with IBM DOORS or comparable requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of F22 subsystems and software architecture is highly desired (legacy aircraft platforms)
• Strong process knowledge for developing mission critical embedded software for aircraft applications (DO-178B, C etc.)
• Knowledge of HWIL simulation environments, and strong RVT (requirement-based testing), and Unit testing.
• Strong analytical/problem solving abilities and a drive to learn emerging technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
Working knowledge of MATLAB and Python is a plus
• Familiar with 6DoF Simulations is a plus
• Knowledge of Fire control systems a plus
