PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Quality will manage the inspection of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. Oversees the development of quality standards and protocols for quality assurance testing models. Assists in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment. Responsible for evaluating internal controls and ensuring processes are acceptable, effective and in compliance with company policies/procedures, Quality Management System requirements, and Customer/Government requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans, coordinates, and directs manufacturing quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards
Establish/manage quality manufacturing department's business plan, budget, tactical strategies, roles and responsibility and standard work procedures to ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPI)
Manage and ensure optimal utilization of all available resources (budget, workforce, processes and systems) for effective and efficient performance achievement through lean strategies
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
Set department strategy and promote creation / update of efficient value-added processes for both inter and intra-departments
Performs managerial functions and other related duties as required to implement continuous process improvements in quality-related processes/procedures
Ensures awareness of customer requirement is promoted throughout the organization
Develops, educates and trains leadership, staff, and associates on the quality system with respect to roles, responsibilities, and application of quality principles
Leverages advanced Quality tools (Data Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA) and provides direction for employees on complex technical quality subjects
Addresses and improves all aspects of customer quality manufacturing issues and associated corrective actions
May serve as primary quality manufacturing liaison to the customer
Other duties as directed by Director of Quality
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires excellent leadership, managerial and communication skills
Monitor attendance, time card functions, conduct performance appraisals, set goals and take immediate performance correction actions when necessary
Represent the quality department as a leader and manager
Must be able to recruit, train, guide, mentor personnel
Interface with managers within the company and support overall business goals especially with respect to quality, safety and customer satisfaction
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Demonstrate a high level of customer focus, business judgment, adaptability, teaming skills and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with quality inspection equipment including go/no go, pin gauges, calipers, etc.
Ability to read and understand complicated blueprints
Thorough understanding of CMM operation/programming
Understanding of gauge metrology
Extensive knowledge of AS9110, AS9100, execution into processes and disciplines across all areas within the company
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Must have solid experience with auditing tools (e.g., control charts, Ishikawa diagrams)
Has the ability to influence in a dynamic environment and respond to changing customer and market demands
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office experience
Ability to represent the company at trade shows, business meetings and conventions
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires an advanced degree with (3) years' experience or a bachelor's degree with (5) years' experience
Working knowledge and thorough understanding of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100/9110/9102 requirements
Strong analytical skills, problem solving techniques and statistical application experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams, organizing and managing projects and developing/coaching/guiding team members
Experience with quality inspection equipment including go/no go, pin gauges, calipers, etc.
Ability to read and understand complicated blueprints
Thorough understanding of CMM operation/programming
LSSGB/LSSBB experience a plus
NADCAP experience a plus
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
