Overview

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for a Project Manager, reporting to the Engineering Manager, Aerospace and Defense Engineering, to join a global engineering and manufacturing leader in tech that does cool stuff that matters. Within the Aerospace and Defense Business Area, you will work with a talented team of business and technical professionals to lead the planning and execution of a variety of technological products. This could include hardware and/or software development. Drawing on your high caliber project management (PM) skills and experience, you will also help shape our PM processes and best practices.

Location: Hexagon is a global company with office around this world. This position can be based in Calgary, Alberta.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, responsibilities include:  

  • Lead product development and/or software development projects forward by directing the project schedule, scope, cost and quality to deliver exceptional products aligned with business needs by using Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning development process  
  • Effectively collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional development teams to ensure project success   
  • Ensure project information is disseminated in a timely manner  
  • Proactively monitor, control, communicate and respond to project issues and risks   
  • Facilitate and oversee the approvals process for project related changes  
  • Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with key parties at all organizational levels  
  • Foster a collaborative team environment within the project team  
  • Listen to and address team concerns before issues arise and manage conflict  
  • Prepare regular project status and dashboard updates  
Qualifications

Must-Have:                          

  • Experience with digital hardware, embedded firmware or software development and/or testing  
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies  
  • A minimum of 3 years of combined product development and project management experience  
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work in a cross functional team  
  • Strong interpersonal skills for fostering productive relationships and creating a cohesive working atmosphere  
  • Able to analyze, communicate and address complex issues independently and/or with the support of project resources  
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools like MS Project, Jira, Confluence  
  • Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities, demands and timelines  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
