Job description

  • Support the design, development and implementation of plans and project initiatives to ensure that PMO operational needs are identified and met.
  • Support the development, implementation of project plans, and monitor project action plans; maintain project schedules, time and cost objectives and reports regularly on progress. Analyze and ensure quality of production. Analyze potential risks and assist with the development of risk management recommendations.
  • Monitor and prioritize activities; provide administrative services to project teams. Formulate process and assess progress against goals and objectives. Assist in the development of recommendation of overall strategies for implementation.
  • Analyze data and identify opportunities for project related issue resolution. Develop and present recommendations based on the analysis of data.
  • Support the planning of project budgets, recommend the allocation of financial resources to specific projects and make logistical arrangements to maximize the effectiveness of the project/s teams. Work with the finance team to provide cost estimates for projects and produce monthly financial forecasts.
  • Attend project meetings and as required, attend organizational meetings. Represent Corporate Operations on interdepartmental activities or projects. Liaise across departments and stakeholders to gather information and ensure alignment
  • Provide advice and information, guidance, and technical assistance in the development of plans and or project specifications to management, team leaders and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review and maintain project documentation such as reports, presentation decks, briefings position papers and critiques, and present result of findings for project related issues to inform stakeholders and facilitate decision making.
  • Incorporate quality standards and or quality management systems into project deliverables where required and suggest changes to ensure the standardization, simplification and improvement of services provided to clients. Review documentation to be delivered by the project to the client for completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project action plans.
  • Analyze potential risks and assist with the development of risk mitigation recommendations; Monitor and prioritize activities; aid team projects.

Education & Experience

  • Project Management experience in an Aerospace related environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience in new aerospace certification programs is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of theories, principles and practices of project management, financial, contracting, research, data gathering techniques, and teamwork with a special emphasis on teams is required to facilitate the establishment of appropriate project structures and mandates to accomplish desired organizational goals in a cost-effective manner.
  • Thorough technical knowledge on project management technical tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of organization, roles, goals and objectives; mandates, legislation, programs, roles and structure.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in general administration, principles, methods, practices and techniques.
  • Excellent ability to communicate a strategy using PowerPoint and to work with Excel and MS-Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and work effectively with people at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent project management, communication, organizational, customer service and time management skills, foresight, accuracy and commitment to objectives and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, autonomous and enthusiastic, possess excellent written and verbal communications and human relations skills and be willing to travel.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant Canadian Aviation Regulations, Acts and Policies; contracting methodology; understanding the management of outside suppliers, contractors and stakeholders, is beneficial.
