Job description

Aerospace Engineer

The Opportunity:

Aerospace Engineer will apply aerospace structural engineering expertise to reliability analysis, component testing, airworthiness documentation, failure investigations, and sustainment optimization. Skills to provide engineering support across Weapons System Integrity Programs (WSIP), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis, corrosion studies, Finite Element Model (FEM) development, subsystem test planning, and obsolescence mitigation efforts to improve Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) of aerospace systems.

You Have:

  • 15+ years of experience with aerospace structural engineering supporting commercial and military aircraft

  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis, including static, nonlinear, transient, fatigue, and joint strength analysis supporting component and subsystem evaluations

  • Experience assessing legacy engineering data, maintenance findings, and structural documentation to support redesign, failure investigations, and life-extension efforts

  • Experience developing repair and modification designs with Technical Data Packages, engineering drawings, tolerance evaluations, and detailed structural substantiation

  • Experience identifying Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability drivers, maintenance significant items, and mission critical components supporting reliability analysis and RCM updates

  • Experience reviewing United States Air Force documentation including OEM drawings, technical manuals, system schematics, and historical maintenance programs and producing engineering reports, test documentation, and analysis packages for government customers

  • Ability to map and interpret technical requirements, subsystem documentation, work-unit codes, and maintenance intervals for aerospace integrity programs

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting overhaul manual updates, Bill of Materials (BOM) evaluations, and Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) development

  • Experience performing corrosion mapping, trend analysis, and reviewing fleet environmental exposure data

  • Experience applying GD&T including ASME Y14.5 to develop, interpret, and validate aircraft component drawings

  • Experience with automation and scripting with skills such as Python, TCL, and Excel to support FEM post-processing and engineering workflows

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
