  • Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (5-Month Assignment)

As an Inspector - Fabrication/Assembly, you'll be at the forefront of aircraft quality assurance, ensuring fabrication, assembly, and composite structures meet stringent aviation standards. Your expertise will help identify and resolve quality concerns, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute directly to the safety and performance of world-class aircraft.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
  • Perform inspection activities within fabrication, assembly, structures, and composite repair environments.
  • Apply expertise in one or more of the following classifications:
    • Systems/Payload Structures Mechanic
    • Assembly Mechanic A
    • Fuselage Assembly Mechanic A
    • Underwing Composites Mechanic A
    • Metals Mechanic A
    • Process Mechanic A3
  • Qualify and certify for Systems Inspection functions.
  • Conduct process and hardware audits and surveillance activities.
  • Investigate quality issues and document root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit test and investigation statements.
  • Support training initiatives and assist team members as needed.
  • Perform all responsibilities associated with Level B inspection requirements.
  • Work in both cleanroom and structural assembly environments, supporting composite fabrication and composite structure operations related to advanced aircraft programs.
  • Help identify and resolve manufacturing and quality concerns impacting production.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Structures and Composite Repair.
  • Background in aerospace fabrication, assembly, inspection, or quality assurance.
  • Ability to perform detailed inspections and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
  • Experience investigating nonconformances and supporting corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprints, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to successfully obtain required inspector certification stamp following training.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to safety and quality.
Required Testing & Certifications
Candidates must successfully complete applicable written and practical testing, including:
  • Assembly Sealing
  • Post Assembly Sealing
  • Electrical Bond & Ground (All Meters)
  • Electrical Bond Final Inspection
  • Precision Measuring Tools
  • Skin Quality Inspection

Additional required training and testing may include:
  • Researching and Creating NCRs in MES
  • Solid Rivet Inspection
  • Blind Fastener Inspection
  • Hex-Drive Bolt Inspection
  • Lockbolt Inspection
  • Bolt and Nut Inspection
  • Fastener Inspection on Composites
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, particularly composite fabrication and composite structures.
  • Experience supporting advanced aircraft programs, including large composite aircraft structures.
  • Prior quality inspection certification or aerospace quality assurance experience.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments.
  • Experience conducting audits, surveillance activities, and process improvement initiatives.
