Our Defense division in Salt Lake City, UT is looking for a Product Engineer to join our dynamic team within the Missiles business unit where you will work on missile control actuation systems! This Product Engineer has full technical responsibility for the assigned production program(s) within a Value Stream. This includes being the focal point for resolving all questions/problems concerning the design, manufacture, assembly, and test of production hardware. The Product Engineer also initiates changes and deviations to the design or specification requirements and is responsible for test failure diagnosis. You will report to the Site Engineering Manager and enjoy a 9/80 schedule on first shift!
As our Product Engineer, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:
  • Being the internal and external facing day to day technical interface in the production phase.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of equipment to meet production requirements for operations department. These include assembly fixtures and tools, production flow-line systems, and test equipment.
  • Assure and maintain design integrity, producibility and quality in development and production products.
  • Provide production assembly/test instructions to operations personnel to maintain efficient production. These instructions include formal Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures, engineering memos, and Electronic Historical Record entries.
  • Perform engineering analysis to assess non-conformances or technical issues that occur during assembly and test.
  • Develop Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) analyses that ensure long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems.
  • Collaborate with other Moog resources to resolve production problems, performing Material Review Board (MRB) analyses, and assisting in evaluation for possible notice of escape (NoE) to customers.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to work through roadblocks and ensure on-time delivery of hardware.
  • Drive product design changes guided by the above items by redlining drawings, hosting Change Review Board, and completing engineering change orders.
  • Travel up to 5% to customers and suppliers as needed.

To be considered for the Product Engineer role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or comparable field of engineering
  • At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, system schematics and other technical documentation with a strong preference for GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
  • Technical expertise in electromechanical actuation products, electronics, and related technologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and coordination with internal and external customers, suppliers, etc., on complex projects and issues.
  • The ability to write work instructions and other engineering documentation.
  • Ability to work onsite in Salt Lake City, UT (remote candidates will not be considered).

Salary Range Transparency:
Salt Lake City, UT $85,000.00-$120,000.00 Annually
