Qwaltec is seeking an Aerospace Engineer (Spacecraft Engineer) to support on-orbit spacecraft operations for a Department of War customer. In this role, you will monitor spacecraft health and status, support anomaly resolution and recovery, and help evolve the ground command and control architecture as new spacecraft are integrated into operations. You will work hand-in-hand with spacecraft factories, RF and digital technicians, network engineers, and software teams across the full mission life cycle - from design reviews and integration through ground and on-orbit test. This position is fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor spacecraft health and status and provide support for spacecraft in operation, including anomaly resolution and recovery • Support spacecraft operations and configuration changes • Develop mission plans, review logs for day and overnight activity, and compile system and network statistics • Write or modify procedure files; evaluate and trend spacecraft performance • Work with spacecraft factories, RF and digital technicians, network engineers, software teams, and others to integrate existing and new spacecraft into ground command and control architectures • Participate in spacecraft design reviews, integration, and ground and on-orbit testing Requirements • Bachelor's degree in engineering, a science discipline, or related field • 5 years of relevant experience • Active Top Secret (TS) or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required • U.S. Citizenship required • Ability to work fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding (TT&C) operations • Experience with spacecraft anomaly investigation, resolution, and recovery • Familiarity with ground command and control systems and mission planning tools Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive benefits package • Professional development support and training budget • Opportunity to grow with a mission-driven, women-owned small business at the forefront of space operations Why Qwaltec?
